Spaghetti-maps: no thanks!

In computer science we use the term spaghetti code to indicate code written in a confusing, convoluted, to draw the idea of \u200b\u200ba plate of spaghetti. This code is obviously difficult to use. The same can happen in the creation of a map. In recent years
platforms such as Google Earth, Google Maps and the like have offered to millions of users worldwide the ability to rapidly create maps to share online. The apparent ease of use of these tools, lack of expertise in mapping and communication by users, has unfortunately meant that there has been a proliferation of poorly-made maps, overly complex, ultimately underused. Are unfortunately even in Italy many initiatives of organizations, institutions (and many private) that flock to online maps unreadable large amounts of information, believing in good faith to provide services to citizens and to the user, without asking questions about their actual usability.
If the Anglo-Saxon world have sprung up blogs and websites designed to offer simple tips and guidelines to design good maps on-line, in the Italian lack of initiatives of this type: this blog in his small, therefore, wants to make a contribution to fill this void. Function of the blog is also to promote my publications and articles, as well as other authors, on the theme.
